Flyover
Hole 1
Hole 1 Par 4 292 to 410 Yards Handicap 7 Pro’s Tip: This is a great opening hole. Trees edge both sides of the fairway before you get to this long green that is protected in the front by a bunker. Hitting the fairway off the tee is key here. Check pin location as it can be a 3 club difference from the front to the back of the green.
Hole 2
Hole 2 Par 4 215 to 336 Yards Handicap 11 Pro’s Tip: Fairly simple par 4 with a grass bunker in the middle of the fairway. Bomb driver here to hit wedge/short iron into this multi-tiered green.
Hole 3
Hole 3 Par 3 119 to 214 Yards Handicap 15 Pro’s Tip: The water right of the green is where Pro V’s go to die. Usually plays into the wind but you might not realize it since the green is protected by trees.
Hole 4
Hole 4 Par 5 450 to 535 Yards Handicap 1 Pro’s Tip: Avoid the fairway bunkers right of the fairway. Very large green with water left and in back. Nothing wrong with a par here.
Hole 5
Hole 5 Par 4 332 to 458 Yards Handicap 5 Pro’s Tip: With bunkers left and mounds right, a long straight drive is required to set you up for a approach shot to this long, narrow green.
Hole 6
Hole 6 Par 3 103 to 197 Yards Handicap 17 Pro’s Tip: If you didn’t lose your ball on the first par 3, there’s a good chance you will lose it here with the water right and behind this green. Anything on the green is great but try to get on the right tier as this green slopes severely left to right.
Hole 7
Hole 7 Par 5 385 to 514 Yards Handicap 3 Pro’s Tip: Out of bounds all down the right side. It’s a three shot hole if it’s playing into the wind. You must avoid the tree in the right rough in front of the pond in order to have a clear shot at the green. If you are lucky, you will see a plane takeoff/land at the airport right next to this hole. They come in so low that I’ve even ducked before!
Hole 8
Hole 8 Par 4 258 to 313 Yards Handicap 13 Pro’s Tip: Great short risk/reward par 4! Play smart by laying up in the protected fairway and hitting a wedge/short iron with some spin to this tiny green or try to drive the green which can lead to a pitch shot that isn’t able to spin enough to hold this green. Just as easy to make 3 here as it is to make 8.
Hole 9
Hole 9 Par 4 260 to 371 Yards Handicap 9 Pro’s Tip: This is our signature hole. You are looking at the longest bunker is the state of Michigan. It starts on the right side of the fairway about 160 yards from the green and then crosses the fairway at 100 yards before it turns up the left side of the fairway all the way to the green. Lay up to the front edge of the bunker (big hitters can fly the bunker). Two tiered green can cause problems.
Hole 10
Hole 10 Par 4 267 to 376 Yards Handicap 12 Pro’s Tip: A tee shot in play is key here. The 150 yard post is a great target. Better short than long on your approach shot. Play this hole smart and you will walk away with a birdie or a par.
Hole 11
Hole 11 Par 5 436 to 525 Yards Handicap 4 Pro’s Tip: With out of bounds right and trees left you need a straight tee shot. Big hitters can get home in two but most players will be happy with keeping the ball out of the trees. Enjoy the view as this is one of our prettiest holes especially in the fall.
Hole 12
Hole 12 Par 4 286 to 423 Yards Handicap 8 Pro’s Tip: Another intimidating tee shot with the pond left of the fairway. Safe shot is hitting your tee shot short of 160 yards from the green but that leaves a long approach. This is big green that you do not want to go long on.
Hole 13
Hole 13 Par 3 151 to 202 Yards Handicap 16 Pro’s Tip: Great par 3 here with a large bunker protecting the front left of the green. Lots of slope in this green.
Hole 14
Hole 14 Par 4 321 to 457 Yards Handicap 6 Pro’s Tip: My personal favorite hole at The Quest. Slight dogleg to the right. No need to try to cut the corner as the fairway slopes to the right. This is a long green so be sure to select the correct club.
Hole 15
Hole 15 Par 3 88 to 165 Yards Handicap 18 Pro’s Tip: Forth and final par 3 on the course. Green is well bunkered and very narrow with lots of slope. Plays downwind mostly but the tee box is protected by trees so it’s tough to tell.
Hole 16
Hole 16 Par 4 275 to 368 Yards Handicap 14 Pro’s Tip: Narrow tee shot over water on a hole that plays up hill and usually into the wind – no problem! If you can keep the ball out of the trees then you have an excellent chance to score on this hole.
Hole 17
Hole 17 Par 4 306 to 370 Yards Handicap 10 Pro’s Tip: Slight dogleg right with a pond in the landing area right of the fairway means stay on the left side of the fairway off the tee. Green has a peak in the center and slopes to both sides. Must be on the correct side of this slope to have any chance of birdie or par.
Hole 18
Hole 18 Par 5 481 to 548 Yards Handicap 2 Pro’s Tip: It all comes down to this. A very tough, uphill, into the wind par 5 with a narrow shoot off the tee with a fairway bunker left and woods right. A drive in play is only the first step as your second shot has to avoid the trees on both sides of the fairway and another fairway bunker on the right. Finally you hit your approach shot to this tiny green with tons of slope. Don’t go long or left as it is certain OB. Walk off proudly with a par or better.
